A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a typo. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk messages, but this issue can be rectified using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux hosting package with us and you wish to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domain names hosted in your account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will see a small-size icon handily located directly next to each one of them. With just a single click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the contextual menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
